StoryNet is an initiative of the Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network, with funding from Canada's Cultural Development Fund. It seeks to encourage Canadians to digitally record and preserve stories about the people, places and events that have helped shaped our lives.
We are currently building a province-wide collection of life-memory interviews from English-speaking Quebec and gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Department of Canadian Heritage.
Everyone has a story and everyone can contribute to the StoryNet archive. Together we’ll weave memories, insights, wisdom and unique voices into Canada’s cultural heritage for future generations.
Sharing stories and listening to each other are acts that help create and build community. StoryNet will links people through the simple power of narrative and the sound of human voices.
Recording life memories is a wonderful way to honour the people we admire while helping to preserve and celebrate the diversity of voices in Canada.
We are committed to working with historical societies, heritage organisations, schools, community associations, faith groups, families and individuals to identify interview subjects and organise recording sessions. We encourage community partners to use StoryNet services for their own archives and fundraising activities.
